LEVERAGING DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY TO PROMOTE THE IMPORTANCE OF PROTECTING BIODIVERSITY.

MSIG Singapore has teamed up with WWF Singapore and District Race to spearhead a community-based initiative for the public to learn more about biodiversity, guided by an app that will take them on an interactive and engaging trail set within Singapore’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site—the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The MSIG Biodiversity Trail is the result of this collaborative effort.

This free and easy-to-explore trail leverages on District Race’s experiential technology and participants can discover interesting biodiversity facts about the local flora and fauna while completing virtual checkpoints and challenges.

NEW IN 2021: MSIG BIODIVERSITY MISSION

Following the success of the first trail at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, MSIG Singapore introduced the MSIG Biodiversity Mission in 2021 on a revamped District Race mobile app, to continue its biodiversity education efforts, with content designed in partnership with Conservation International Asia-Pacific.

The MSIG Biodiversity Mission showcases two interactive trails - Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve and Siloso Trail - and is free for the public to participate. Apart from the virtual checkpoints and in-app challenges, participants of the MSIG Biodiversity Mission also receive extra points for every kilometre travelled. Upon completion of their activity, participants can access an augmented reality face filter, which will certify them as an “MSIG Biodiversity Protector”. The top scorers of each trail stand to win attractive prizes. The contents of the trails will also be refreshed midway to bring a new learning experience to participants.
